Holly Brook Farm produces Guinea Fowl similar to chickens: the Guinea chicks arrive from a commercial hatchery one day old. They then brood in a heated environment, eating grain and drinking local well water. After the brooding period, when they have adequately feathered, they are placed in outdoor chicken tractors. At this point, the Guinea Fowl move with the tractors around a grassy field where they eat insects, grass, and grain as well as well water. They are a unique product because they are usually not thought of as food, rather as a guard animal. They taste similar to pheasant, not gamey, but flavorful. We offer whole birds only.
